Rights as Taxpayers

The issue of health care has been the focus of many discussions during the past election cycle. What we are seeing now is a partial synopsis of a report paid for by the past administration.
Dr. Jonathan Gruber, a noted economist, was hired to create a report on the effects of this health care plan on the citizens of Wisconsin. The facts were not reported in full by Health Services Secretary Dennis Smith and Insurance Commissioner Ted Nickel, but were instead cherry picked from the complete report.
As residents of this state, as well as taxpayers, we must demand that the full report be released so we can be fully informed and able to make the correct decisions on health care for Wisconsin citizens. We cannot rely on those in charge, who are releasing only the information they feel fits their agenda.
As officials in power and position they are obligated to tell the people all that the report includes so they can make informed judgments. As a public official, to do less is unethical and displays bias for an agenda that may not really benefit those they are supposed to serve.

In order for Wisconsin citizens to make a proper judgment we must demand that all information paid for with tax dollars be released so we can be better informed on the issue. As long as the report doesn't concern national security we have a right to know.
